Precision Gem

Gem 1242 - Tanzanite - 1.63 ct. This is a natural blue, un-heated stone from Tanzania. A very small percentage of the tanzanite found are natural blue stones. Most stones are a brown/gray color, and are then heated to produce the blue/purple. I like working with the natural blue stones, as the colors tend to show the 3 colors along the different axis more than the heated stones. As with all tanzanite, the stone shows a stronger blue color in daylight and florescent light, and more violet purple in incandescent light. This stone measures 6.602 mm and is cut in my Jua round design.

Gem 1201 - Tanzanite - 2.19 ct. This one is cut in a checker board crown oval. I like the more modern cuts for tanzanite. The stone measures 8.79 x 6.8 mm and was heated. There are some eye visible inclusions.

Gem 1169 - Tanzanite - 2.38 ct. This tanzanite is a natural blue, not requiring any heating. Typically these natural blue stones are not the deep blue of the heated stones, but do show more of the triclorism tanzanite is known for. The stone measures 8.68 x 6.97 mm, and is a modern cushion cut. There is one very fine needle or growth tube that runs the length of the stone. It's almost invisible with the naked eye, other than that it's flawless.

Gem 695 - Tanzanite - 2.58 ct. This one is a medium blue with violet color tanzanite. The stone was naturally blue with out heat, but I heated it to burn off a gray cast. Measures 7.92
