Tanzanite is found only in Tanzania in the foot hills
of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Tanzanite is a birthstone for
December. A bit soft, with a hardness of 6 to 7. Most
stones are heated to produce the blue/purple colors.
Occasionally the stones are found blue, and I'll leave
them alone an not heat them.
